LACLEARN Seeks Concept Notes For Evidence Review of Effective Violence Prevention Strategies for Children

The Latin America and Caribbean Learning and Rapid Response (LACLEARN) recently published a call for concept notes for evidence review of effective violence prevention strategies for children aged 8-12 at high risk of forms of youth violence (gang or other anti-social behavior). These concept notes are expected to contribute to  Theme 1 of the LACLEARN Annual Program Statement - Citizen Security and Crime and Violence Prevention.

More specifically, the concept notes should:

  1. Expand USAID’s awareness of existing evidence on violence prevention directed at children aged 8-12 in the higher risk categories (secondary and tertiary);
  2. Enhance understanding on the extent of high-risk forms of youth violence in children aged 8-12;
  3. Provide a case study for, at a minimum, one Latin American and one Caribbean country; and
  4. Categorize existing intervention types based on their effectiveness and assess their potential for replication.

DPI's joint venture partner on LACLEARN, Making Cents International, has more information on the application process here. Basic information is also available in Spanish on their website. Template for concept notes can be found here
