RULE OF LAW – CHIEF OF PARTY

Development Professionals, Inc. (DPI) seeks to build a roster of qualified Chief of Party candidates for upcoming rule of law programs. Experience and technical expertise are sought in one or more of the following areas: advancing efficiency, transparency, accountability and service delivery in justice systems; developing automated solutions and/or legislative and regulatory frameworks for justice institutions; implementing access to justice and/or people-centered justice interventions; and promoting citizen security. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical and strategic leadership in implementing and overseeing all aspects of project activities, finances, compliance, and reporting
  • Manage the preparation and presentation of project work plans, MEL plans, and periodic reports, consistent with contractual and internal reporting requirements
  • Act as key liaison with the host country government, project donor, and home office
  • Effectively manage and task project staff to ensure deadlines are met and high-quality deliverables are timely completed
  • Provide technical assistance, as needed, to program partners and beneficiaries
  • Oversee financial transactions in accordance with governing policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • Law degree or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., international relations, public policy, public administration, criminal justice, judicial administration)
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated professional experience in international development in the rule of law , with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory position
  • Strong management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of technical staff, stakeholders, subcontractors, and donors
  • High level of knowledge and skills in financial management, human resources, work planning, and monitoring and evaluation
  • Working knowledge of USAID policies, regulations, and procedures
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to produce high quality reports and other project communications
