Ms. Stamenkovic is DPI’s founder and Chief Executive Officer. Before forming DPI in 2009, she honed her international development expertise serving as: a Senior Legal Advisor to the UNHCR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, helping to return and reintegrate over 15,000 refugees; as Senior Prosecutorial Reform Advisor for the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia; and as a Senior Rule of Law Advisor for USAID’s Europe and Eurasia Bureau, providing guidance and support for multiple USAID missions in program design, strategy development, and project evaluation. Her international experience also includes serving as team leader of more than 40 evaluations of donor-funded rule of law programs around the world. Before starting work, Ms. Stamenkovic worked for the US State Department’s Office of Counsel to the Inspector General, in the Office of the Public Defender for the State of Maryland, and in private practice. She is fluent in Serbo-Croatian and Russian, and holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law.
